How it is built
Unlike the Eala and the Maranga, the Superia is not a mattress on a base but a single bed. Inside are two spring systems: pocket springs above, Bonnell springs below. The frame is made of slow-grown pine from northern Sweden, with traditional finger joints at the corners, and the corners are padded with flax so the springs make no sound.
The frame is 16.8 centimetres tall, the same as on the 2000T. At 37 centimetres the bed itself is low, which suits it to rooms where a tall bed would take up too much space.
Where it sits in the collection
The Superia belongs to the Essential collection, between the two-part Eala and Maranga and the lighter Excel and Marquis. Of the three one-part beds it is the tallest and has the longest pocket springs.
A round version also exists, alongside the round Herlewing. Anyone considering a round bed is therefore choosing between a one-part and a two-part bed.
How to judge it
Don't compare on comfort as you lie down; every Hästens bed is good at that. Compare on how easily you turn and on how you wake up. Those are the two outcomes that will still count in ten years, and you can only establish them at night.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Superia better than the 2000T?
They are built differently: the Superia is a one-part bed with two spring systems, the 2000T a middle mattress on a base with three. More construction means a different feel, not automatically a better one for your body. Weight, sleeping position and the difference with your partner weigh more heavily.
What does a Hästens Superia cost?
Price on request from the dealer. Size, legs, fabric and topper drive the amount more than the model does; ask for comparable finishes if you want to put models side by side.
